A significant milestone in the history of Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA S.A.) and the development of the Port of Piraeus was commemorated at the 9th Infrastructure and Transport Conference ITC 2026, with the presentation of a Special Award marking 10 years since COSCO SHIPPING joined PPA S.A.’s shareholding structure.
The award was received by PPA S.A. Chief Executive Officer, Mr. SU Xudong, in a milestone year for the Company, as 2026 marks a decade since the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Port of Piraeus.
The presence of COSCO SHIPPING in PPA S.A.’s shareholding structure has been associated with a period of significant investment, development and strengthening of the Port of Piraeus’ competitive position, as well as its further development as an important cargo and logistics hub in Southeast Europe.
Speaking upon receiving the award, PPA S.A. Chief Executive Officer, Mr. SU Xudong, stated:
“It is a great honor to receive this Special Award marking 10 years since COSCO SHIPPING joined PPA S.A.
Today’s recognition is an important moment for all of us who have been part of the Port of Piraeus’ journey. It gives us the opportunity to reflect on the progress of the past decade, recognize what we have achieved and, at the same time, look to the future with optimism and determination.
Throughout these years, we have moved forward with a clear commitment, a shared vision and a long-term focus on the development of the Port of Piraeus. This journey and its achievements are the result of collective effort and cooperation.
This award belongs to everyone who has contributed to this effort: our shareholders, partners, colleagues and employees at PPA S.A., the Greek State and, of course, the local port community.
We sincerely thank everyone for their continued support, cooperation and trust. With the same commitment, we will continue working towards a modern, competitive and internationally connected port, playing an important role in the economy and supply chains of the wider region.”
