San Francisco: Temporary Safety Guidelines for Navigating in Reduced Visibility

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard, Sector San Francisco, have issued a marine safety information bulletin, regarding temporary guidelines applying to all vessels 1600 GT or greater as follows:

Transport Canada and the French Centre of Documentation, Research, and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution (CEDRE) have jointly established the web site Understanding Chemical Pollution at Sea. The site is intended to familiarise non-specialists with issues such as chemicals, shipping, sources of pollution, prevention & preparedness, spill response, and impact.

The Council of the European Union has issued a press release stating that it and the European Parliament have reached tentative agreement on financing and governance of the European satellite navigation systems (EGNOS and Galileo).
