Panama Canal: Pilotage Regulation

The Panama Canal Authority has issued Advisory 08-2013 013, reminding masters of transiting vessels that the pilot assigned to the vessel shall have control of the navigation and movement of the vessel. Failure to comply with the pilot's orders, or performing manoeuvers without the pilot's consent, may result in damage to the vessel and/or Canal structures and, on occasion, sanctions to the vessel.
